Reached only via a 70ft-high footbridge and with direct access to the sandy beach below, this unique B&B in Cornwall offers the perfect location for honeymoons, anniversaries and any special occasion

Inside

  • Bedrooms: A luxurious double room, elegantly furnished in floral fabrics.
  • Bathrooms: En suite washbasin and private double shower with toilet adjacent to the room.
  • For relaxation: Sit out on the terrace and enjoy a grandstand view to the surfers the sunset or the stars, or relax in the sitting room that boasts panoramic coastal views.
  • For recreation: Descend the steps to the sandy beach below or head out along the cliff-top coast path. Fishing, sailing, pleasure boating and gig racing are all available in the harbour below.

Outside

A large sunbathing, stargazing and breakfast terrace overlooking the Atlantic. Access to the property is via a footbridge above the beach.

  • In-house cuisine: Breakfast is served in the dining room, or outside on the sea-view decking. Choose from smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, full English or Continental-style breakfast.
  • Eating out: A firm favourite is the New Harbour Restaurant, a short walk across the beach at low tide (01637 874062, www.finns2go.com). The property is also a short drive or pleasant coastal walk from Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Restaurant on Watergate Bay (www.fifteencornwall.co.uk). And if it’s the big-name chef’s you’re here for, head to one of Rick Stein’s eateries in Padstow (www.rickstein.com).

Getting there:

  • On the map: Situated mid-way along the north Cornish Coast, 20 minutes north of Perranporth and 20 minutes south of Padstow.
  • By car: About 4.5 hours from London, 2 hours from Exeter.
  • By train: The closest train station is Newquay (about 5mins away).
  • By air: The nearest airport is Newquay (about 15 minutes from the property).
  • Heli-pad: No

Out and About

  • It is a short drive (or a pleasant cliff-top walk) to Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Restaurant at Watergate Bay.
  • The beaches of Newquay are a hive of activity, offering water sports including surfing, kitesurfing, body boarding and coasteering.
  • Head east or west along the stunning South West Coast Path.
  • If golf is your bag there is a range of local courses boasting sea views.
  • Situated in mid-Cornwall the property is a superb base from which to explore all sorts of visitor attractions from the Eden Project, Padstow and St Ives to Heligan and Trebah.
